Marco di Lauro wint E&P Photo of the Year
Editor & Publisher announced its 6th Annual 2005 Photos of the Year winners, giving its grand prize award to Marco di Lauro of Getty Images.
Di Lauro's winning photo shows two Palestinian boys watching as men stand on the roof of a destroyed synagogue in the Gaza Strip. Di Lauro wins $1,000 and a Nikon digital camera and lens system. Di Lauro joined Getty in 2002 after working as a freelancer and for The Associated Press. He has covered conflicts in the Balkans, Afghanistan and around the Middle East and Africa.
All the winning photographs are displayed in an online gallery on the E&P web site.
